I have an exchange student from New Jersey and he will be leaving the universitys' club that I am teaching. I was wondering if there are any good JKF Go Jyu Ryu Dojo in that area. He may or may not want to join but I thought I would at look for some information for him.
I know of a couple of reputable dojo's in New Jersey. It also depends upon where in New Jersey the person lives.
1) Portas Karate in Pompton Lakes (near Philly). Porta sensei is associated with the shobukan. WWW.portaskarate....
2) TKC - Matawan Dojo - Michael sensei is associated with IGKA -
He is 5th dan and lived in Japan several years. WWW.TKCKARATE.COM/ I have been friends with Michael sesei since grade school. He is a very accomplished martial artist. He is the highest ranking IGKA teacher on the east coast(as far as I know).
3) Mountain martial arts- Eglishtown - They are a Jundokan affiliate - I used to train with Kapel sensei when we were younger. WWW.newjerseyjund...
I did not know which organization you were looking for? I know these three are reputable. I'm sure there are a couple of others.
but do not know where in New Jersey this person lives. It is a big state.
