We are dedicated to supporting and expanding our art to the community starting right here at home in the San Francisco Bay Area and we welcome any input you may provide to help us in Karatedo. The San Francisco Bay Area Gojukan is a small school located in the San Francisco Bay Area. We proactively search for people with a certain aura about them to train with and learn from. Featured Guest instructors visit and train with the students and class on a regular basis providing additional insight and optional points of views. Students also have the opportunity to travel training abroad in Japan, Okinawa and other countries with our extensive network of sister dojo.

We are not your run of the mill, fly by night martial arts group with questionable claims or invent our own style. This is legitimate, this is Karatedo and this is JKF Gojukai - Gojuryu Karatedo Seiwakai. With a direct and traceable lineage, international opportunities to train in Japan or Okinawa and skills that will last you a lifetime.
一 1. 道場 (体育館) に入るときは [お願いします ] 出るときは [有り難うございました] と一礼する事。
(注！ 体育館であっても空手の練習中は神聖な道場であることを認識する事。)
二 2. 遅れて来た者は, 通常通りに 正座し, 黙想, 正面, 指導者に礼 をし準備運動で体を温めてから再び正座し, 指導者に大きな声で [お願いします] と一礼後, 列の最後に入る事。
三 3. 指導者に対しては, 謙虚な姿勢で臨み注意を受けた時は [はい] または [判りました] と大きな声で返事をする事。
四 4. 先輩に対しては礼節をわきまえ, 先輩は後輩に対しておごった態度をとらずに親切に導く事。
五 5. 段位 - 級位が上がっても年上の人に対しては謙虚な姿勢 - 言葉遣いで接すること。
六 6. 稽古の開始時間には遅刻をしない事。

七 7. 空手の稽古中は指導者の指示に従い 気持ちを集中し一生懸命練習する事。
八 8. 指導者 - 先輩が演武している時などは正座 (壁に寄りかからない事) をして見学する事。

Nihon Karatedo Renmei Gojukai Association
Certified with the Japan Karatedo Federation [JKF], the only Karatedo organization recognized by the Ministry of Education in Japan. The JKF Gojukai is the major governing group for our style to oversee the further development of Gojuryu Karatedo to the JKF in general.
Club members are also member, athletes or coaches of the USA-NKF. The USANKF is the International Affiliate of the World Karatedo Federation. The USANKF is also the Governing Body for Karate to the USA Olympic Committee and there for, the Sanctioning Body for Karatedo to the United States Olympics Committee in the USA and chooses the USA Olympic Karatedo Team.
Seiwakai Gojuryu is an outstanding source for Gojuryu schools in the United States to maintain contact with Traditional Karatedo. Considered one of the five major styles of Karatedo in Japan, Gojuryu karatedo has the strongest ties to Okinawa where all of today's modern systems of karatedo and kobudo [weapons based martial arts] find their roots and under the guidance of the JKF Gojukai, a unilateral effort to further bind the Gojuryu Karatedo of mainland Japan with and to the Gojuryu Karatedo of Okinawa.

Students of our Club 'The San Francisco Goju Kan' are eligible for registration or are registered members, athletes and officials of the JKF Gojukai, Seiwakai Gojuryu Karatedo Association, the JKF Gojuryu USA [the sole official representative of the JKF Gojukai in the USA], The Dai Nippon Butokukai [DNBK] for Budo concepts and philosophies, and the USA-National Karatedo Federation [USANKF] the Governing body for Karate to the United States Olympic Committee [USOC].
All SF Gojukan classes are accredited by Japan based Gojuryu Karatedo Seiwakai and Japan Karatedo Federation Gojukai.
Our certifications, accreditations and letters of recommendation are available upon request. Over our years in existence in the San Francisco Bay Area we have always remained true to our background. We've never changed our syllabus based on what is popular in the movies or magazines:
