SEIWAKAI KARATE of SILICON VALLEY (SKSV) is a registered state and federal non-profit 501.c.3 (NPO 509.a.2). We formed SKSV to alleviate the common cycle of dojo closing under the costly financial hardships of doing business and living in the bay area. Goju-Ryu Karate-do was introduced to the USA in San Jose California at SJCC by Yoshiaki Ajari in 1954 and follows the teaching methods of Miyagi Chojun (yes there really was a Mr. Miyagi!). Our mission is:
- To establish a permanent Budokan (training hall) in Silicon Valley,
- To promote cultural education and citizenship following the ethics, philosophy and principals of Japanese Budo (martial arts).
- To fortify the mind and body of our neighbors through rigorous training and a focused curriculum to build their competitive spirit.
- To propagate Karate-do and Budo for generations to come, while maintaining consistent training, at the highest levels, for an affordable cost to the community.
