Traditional Gōjū-Ryū Karate in Silicon Valley
Seiwakai Karate Silicon Valley (SKSV) was founded to preserve the legacy of traditional Karate and Japanese Budō in the Bay Area. While many dojo struggle with the high costs of the region, our mission is to provide world-class Karate training that remains accessible to our neighbors in Menlo Park, Palo Alto, Stanford, Atherton, Redwood City, Mountain View, Sunnyvale, San Mateo, Foster City, Burlingame, and the surrounding Silicon Valley communities.
Gōjū-Ryū Karate-dō carries the authentic teaching methods of the founder, Miyagi Chōjun Sensei. Our curriculum focuses on:
- Character Development: Fortifying the mind and body through rigorous training to build strong character, humility, and resilience.
- Citizenship & Cultural Education: Promoting the ethics, philosophy, and classical principles of Japanese Budō.
- Consistent Technical Standards: Propagating authentic Okinawan Karatedō under direct international Japanese certification (JKF Gōjūkai & Seiwakai).
Important Note When Visiting or Enrolling at Arrillaga
Classes take place at the Arrillaga Family Recreation Center (700 Alma St, Menlo Park). SKSV is listed with the City of Menlo Park as “Traditional Karate” under Instructor Johnpaul Williams Sensei. We are the only Traditional Karate (JKF Gōjūkai & Seiwakai) program in all of Menlo Park. When registering through the City of Menlo Park or visiting the center, please be sure you specifically select Traditional Karate to ensure you do not enroll in the wrong program by mistake.
