2. Training Registration & End of Quarter Updates

The registration system is live online! Use the links below to sign up for classes:

    • Monday, March 17 and Wednesday, March 19
  • The new quarter begins on:
    • Monday, April 7 and Wednesday, April 9

4. Shureido Belts Have Arrived!

Great news! Our Shureido belts have arrived. If you placed an order, please contact me before class to arrange pickup. For those interested in ordering a Shureido belt, let me know so we can coordinate the next batch. These belts are known for their exceptional craftsmanship and durability, making them a worthwhile investment!

  • 32nd Annual IKF Karate Championships – Sacramento
    The IKF Sacramento Karate Championships will be held on June 10, 2023. This is a prestigious event with high-level competitors from across the region.

6. Dai Nippon Butoku Kai – Kyoto Training in April

I will be out of the dojo and out of the country in late April, traveling to Kyoto to attend a Budo seminar and demonstrations with the Dai Nippon Butoku Kai (大日本武徳会). During my absence, I will miss the following training days:

📢 Days I will be away from the dojo:

  • Wednesday, April 23
  • Monday, April 28
  • Wednesday, April 30

Our Seniors and Senpai will be leading training during these sessions. Please be respectful of their leadership—they are sharp, experienced, and knowledgeable!

7. Summer Training in Japan – Plan Ahead!

It’s never too early to plan for summer training in Japan! This year, our training will begin in Daisen (Omagari), Akita Prefecture, followed by the JKF Gojukai Seminar and Tournament in Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture. All current Seiwakai members in good standing are welcome to participate in the Seiwakai gasshuku (seminar). Individuals who wish to participate in the JKF Gojukai seminar and tournament must be members of the JKF Gojukai (which requires membership in a member club such as Seiwakai).

📅 Schedule Overview:

  • July 16–18: Training days in Daisen (Omagari), Akita
  • July 19: Rest day
  • July 20–22: More training, with testing for qualified students on July 22 (afternoon)
  • July 23: Travel to Sendai (Miyagi Prefecture) for the JKF Gojukai Seminar
  • July 24–25: JKF Gojukai Seminar (9:00 AM–12:00 PM, 2:00 PM–4:00 PM)
    • Testing for qualified students: July 25 (1:00 PM–5:00 PM)
  • July 26–27: Tournament at Sendai Budokan
